Sun, April 14th: Serving Meals at Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries-Oasis

Dear One Brick Volunteers: We are a small nonprofit that helps hundreds of community organizations each year. We run on a shoestring budget, but we have expenses like insurance, this website, and training materials. We also employ one person who makes sure the train stays on its track. We don't get any foundation or government grants. 30% of the budget is raised during the Annual Campaign going on right now. This year we need to raise $30,000 to keep One Brick afloat. Last year hundreds of volunteers donated $10 or $20 and it made a huge difference.

If you found One Brick useful this year, and you feel we are
making a difference, please consider making a donation.

Thank You

Have you ever wanted to be able to interact with those that you are helping out via volunteerism? If so, this is your chance! One Brick will be serving lunch at DRMM.

One Brick Detroit will be prepping and serving lunch to the many men that come to DRMM-Oasis for a warm meal and help in hard times. Oasis provides several different types of help for men: permanent, transitional, and emergency housing, for reasons from chronic drug use and mental illness to homelessness and transitional needs. By volunteering our valuable time to DRMM-Oasis, many men will receive nourishment and an afternoon of genuine kindness. Be sure to bring your smile with you!

From DRMM-Oasis:

Volunteers will assist the kitchen staff with prep work, serving the meal, and clean-up.

Sign in at the DRMM front desk upon arrival (and with One Brick Detroit)

Organization: Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries (DRMM)

In 1909, a vision for the needs of Detroit was established and Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries became a reality. Today, DRMM is still rebuilding the inner city, one life at a time. Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries is committed to the success, livelihood and sustainability of Greater Detroit and the community; their programs instill pride, progress, and triumph into the lives of each of the 5,000 men, women, and children each year that come to their doors. Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries has identified a positive way to help those who are seeking training, jobs, and most importantly, developed a self-sufficient opportunity to bring income to the area. ***103 Years of helping the homeless, the abused, and the alcoholic***
